Beyonce releases the official video to female anthem “Sorry,”
Bey narrates the opening of the visuals as she asks, “So what are you going to say at my funeral, now that you’ve killed me? ‘Here lies the body of the love of my life, who’s heart I broke without a gun to my head. Here lies the mother of my children, both living and dead. Rest in peace my true love, who I took for granted, most bomb p*ssy. Who because of me, sleep evaded, her shroud is loneliness, her God was listening. Her heaven will be a love without betrayal.’ Ashes to ashes…dust to side chicks.”
The Queen’s powerful words echoed into the bombing sounds of the records beat, as the cameras travel into a southern mansion and find tennis star Serena Williams dancing and turnin’ up in the hallways. Bey and her face-painted troupe of dancers bring more empowering energy while riding a bus, as she sings the now famous line, “Tell ’em boy bye!”
The track also features the infamous “Becky with the good hair” lyric that sent BeyHive members on a search for who the line might’ve been about. Since then, Rita Ora and designer Rachel Roy have denied being the mysterious Becky.
Since the song and much of the album is rumored to be about Jay Z’s alleged infidelity, talk has even turned to Hov possibly making a response album. There have also been rumors of a joint project that addresses the Carters’ marriage.
Despite the song’s ferocious lyrics, things are just fine with Hov and Bey. The couple and their daughter were recently vacationing in Hawaii, before they take the “Formation World Tour” to Europe.
