Beyonce Interviews Solange For “Interview” Cover Story

Beyoncé and her sister Solange had a great year, both releasing critically acclaimed albums in 2016. This week, Solange announced on social media that Beyonce would interview her for her Interview magazine cover story.
“After interviewing my mother and father for A Seat At The Table, it feels like full circle to have chosen my sister to interview me for @InterviewMag,” Solange posted on Instagram. “Spoke about womanism, growing up in a hair salon, and choosing between ‘I could fall in love’ and ‘No Me Queda Mas’. It is one of my favorites to date.”
“If I Could Fall In Love” and “No Me Queda Mas” are two songs from Tejano music legend Selena. The photo she posted on IG is a portrait that will grace the cover of the magazine. Interview, a magazine founded in 1969 by Andy Warhol, features conversations between the world’s greatest minds and are published with no edits.

Drake’s Summer Sixteen Tour Was Highest-Grossing Hip Hop Tour Ever

Toronto rap superstar, Drake has shattered is for the highest-grossing Hip Hop tour for his Summer Sixteen Tour with Future.

Drake grossed $84.3 million over 56 shows in 38 cities between July 20 and October 8, according to numbers from Pollstar. The average show on the tour drew a crowd of 19,793 fans who paid an average ticket price of $112.08. In total, there were 752,141 tickets sold.

The numbers would’ve been higher if not for an ankle injury that sidelined Drake from the last six shows of the tour.

Despite breaking the all-time record for Hip Hop, Drizzy just missed cracking the Top 10 out of all genres for 2016, coming in at #11. Beyoncé came in at #2 for 2016 by grossing $256.2 million with her Formation Tour’s 49 shows, while Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band took the top spot with a tour that grossed $268.3 million over 76 shows.

Kanye West’s Saint Pablo Tour was the second-highest grossing Hip Hop tour of 2016, pulling in $52.8 million over 41 shows to land at the 29 spot.

Kanye had previously held the record with Jay Z for their Watch The Throne Tour over 2011 and 2012.

Drake’s now prepping to head back on road for his European tour, which kicks off in Amsterdam on January 21 and ends in Cologne on March 16.

Drake’s promoted the upcoming tour by saying “special guests” will be announced, although Young Thug has strongly hinted at his own inclusion on Instagram.

eNEWS: Beyonce reportedly calls Kim Kardashian & Kanye “pathetic & talentless.”

Back in November, Kanye went off on one of his rants during the Sacramento stop of the “Saint Pablo” tour, and called out Jay Z & Beyonce for not having talked on the phone yet. Well it’s being believed that Kanye was referencing the fact that when Kim got robbed in Paris, Hov or Bey didn’t show their support or even check up on her with a simple phone call.
Now fast forward to today, and Radar Online is reporting that Beyonce is getting her revenge for his Ye’s outcry on stage last month. According to today’s report, Kim has since tried to mend their relationship with Beyoncé & Jay Z, but Queen Bey ain’t having it.

“Beyonce flipped out on Kim when Kim called her to try and soothe tensions after Kanye’s hospitalization. Basically she told Kim to never, ever, contact her or her husband again and said stuff like she thought that the two of them are made for each other because they are both talentless and pathetic!” – RadarOnline
Radar also reports that Kanye & Kim felt awful about going off on Hov & Bey, so they wanted to try one last time to make things better, and mailed Bey and Jay invites to the Kardashian’s holiday party last week. But the source claims, “The invite was returned to Kim and Kanye’s house with ‘Return To Sender’ written on the envelope!”
Again, who knows the true accuracy behind this report, but sure is interesting to think about, and it does kinda add up & make sense. Read the full report here

eNEWS: Beyoncé’s “Formation World Tour” Earns $256 Million

image

Beyoncé rules supreme once again, with her blockbuster “Formation World Tour.”  The international trek, which started April 27 in Miami and ended Oct. 7 in East Rutherford, New Jersey took in more than $256,084,556 with 2.2 million tickets sold.

While that number reflects the tour’s overall success, each individual show was also stunning in the boxscore. According to Billboard, each concert averaged $5.2 million and 45,757 paid attendees.

The tour’s biggest stop belongs to London’s Wembley Stadium, where on July 2-3, Queen Bey brought in $15.3 million with 142,500 tickets sold. Before that, New York’s Citi Field also raked in $11.5 million with 73,486 tickets sold in two sold-out shows. It was the highest-grossing stop in North America.

Arthur Fogel, the chairman of Live Nation’s Global Touring division, says Beyoncé is the reason those numbers were as astounding as they were.

“When everybody acknowledges the greatness of the production but, more than that, everybody is blown away by her, that’s the ultimate skill,” he said. “To not only use the platform of a great production, but to rise above it as a performer and artist, that’s her incredibly unique quality.”

eNEWS: Solange and Beyoncé Join Elite Group of Siblings with No. 1 Albums on Billboard 200

beyonce-solange

With Solange’s A Seat at the Table debuting at the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s 200 chart, she and her sis Bey become one of the few siblings to both have a solo project hit No. 1.

They are definitely in good company, having done something that only the likes of Michael and Janet Jackson, and Master P and his brother Silkk the Shocker have successfully accomplished.

The siblings’ #BlackGirlMagic is even more impressive because the only other pair of siblings to both have an album debut at No. 1 in the same calendar year are Michael and Janet Jackson. Michael’s Invincible and Janet’s All For You both shot to the top of the charts in 2001. Between the two of them, Beyoncé now has six #1’s thanks to Lemonade, and Solange finally has her first with A Seat at the Table.

According to Nielsen Music, ‘Table‘ sold 72,000 equivalent albums in the week ending Oct. 6. Of that sum, 46,000 were traditional album sales, 3,000 in track equivalent album units, and 24,000 in streaming equivalent album units. That latter sum translates to 35.7 million on-demand streams for the album’s songs on streaming services.

WATCH: Beyoncé Bring Out JAY Z, Kendrick Lamar & Serena Williams at “Formation Tour” Finale

beyonce-jay-z-formation-to

“The Formation World Tour” closed out with a bang on Friday night (Oct. 7) at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium.

Beyoncé capped off her extended worldwide trek with a star-studded finale, that included many guest surprises.

Fans, including Frank Ocean, Hugh Jackman, Tyler Perry, Misty Copeland, and more, looked on all night as Bey delivered another awe-inspiring show, which included appearances by Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, and Serena Williams.

With a career-spanning set, Queen Bey was joined by her husband during “Drunk in Love” for a warm, playful, and sexy duet, one that included a hug and a kiss at the end. Meanwhile, K-Dot came through for the fiery “Freedom” while splashing in the water-filled set. Tennis star Serena Williams also surprised fans, acting as a dancer for “Sorry” in real life, much like she does in the song’s video.

This night wasn’t originally set to be the tour’s finale. However, Beyoncé was making up for postponing this stop last month. During the set, she paused to thank the crowd.

“I have so much energy because of you guys feeding it to me,” she explained. “I really wanted to make this show special…This is definitely my dream right here. I dreamt that I would be doing this and I’m actually doing it, and I could not be here without you and your support.”

First things first. B's boots are insanely dope. Lol. Next thing… Follow my snap: Kodaklens. Lol The Final day of the Formation World Tour was nothing short of Epic. The Jay, X and Ja reunion.. Wow. New artist like A Boogie & Young M. A. came through and blessed us. Not to mention Ma$e, DJ Mustard & Fetty Wop joined us for the 1st time as well and killed it. Thanks to The LOX too. This pic may seem random but the people in it are certainly not. It happened right before we exited MetLife stadium at 1am or something still on a high from the show. The artist in this pic like T.I., Remy and August came to several shows, held us down and performed just for the love. As did all the others. You can't buy that. The We The Best Team including Justin from Roc is in here as well who held Khaled down. DJ Nasty kept it together on the turntables even though we never followed the show script. Lol. Ivan for capturing the historic moments. Terrel & Smokes kept Khaled fresh to death. My brother, Jay, who we can't thank enough for standing on the side of the stage for every show and coached Khaled & I through the performances. He also took a pic with EVERY guest artist that came through. Lol. Applaud him for that. Steve Pamon, Melissa & Larry from Parkwood for making sure we were good!!!! Anyway, I'm not tryin to do any long dumb thank you speech. It's important for me to point out and thank those who work hard and deserve it. They often aren't acknowledged or applauded cause they're behind the scenes. Khaled, they said we couldn't do it. We showed them better than we could tell them. Kiko, I'm sick you not in this. I feel like I just came off a Michael Jackson tour. Lol. Beyonce is 1 of the greatest to ever do it.. Ever! Love you, B. Thanks!!! #TheFormationWorldTour #Beyonce #DJKhaled #WeTheBest #RocNation #Parkwood #Lemonade 📷 captured by @andrewwhitey

Video: Watch Beyoncé Pay Tribute to Shawty Lo in Atlanta

beyonce-atlanta

During her “Formation World Tour” stop in Lo’s hometown Atlanta on Monday (Sept. 26), Queen Bey offered a nod to the late D4L MC, who died last week in a car accident.

At one point in her set, Yoncé blended her “Diva” anthem with Shawy’s solo hit “Dey Know.” After her routine, Bey kissed her hand and pointed at the sky.

Prior to the show, Jeezy and DJ Khaled performed “Dey Know” in honor of Lo too.

eNEWS: Miguel Remixes Beyoncé’s “Crazy in Love” for ‘Fifty Shades Darker’

miguel-outside-lands

The sequel to the Fifty Shades of Grey movie is coming out in time for Valentine’s Day 2017, and the first trailer has been released.

Titled Fifty Shades Darker, the anticipated follow-up to the risque, provocative film is expected to build on the original’s provoking soundtrack, which featured the likes of The Weeknd and Beyoncé. In fact, the reworked version of Queen Bey’s “Crazy In Love” has been remixed for the new film, this time by Miguel!

Offering a similarly slowed down, seductive rendition of Beyoncé’s 2015 version, the R&B maverick adds another level of sexy with his raw vocal over piano keys.

“You got me looking so crazy right now,” he coos as the trailer builds suspense. “Your love’s got me looking so crazy right now.”

Fifty Shades Darker is due in theaters Feb. 14, 2017. Check out the preview of Miguel’s “Crazy in Love” below.
