Messi is still an uncertain pick for Argentina’s world cup qualifier with Paraguay.
Leo Messi is a doubt for the match against Paraguay. Even though he was also a doubt against Betis and he ended up coming on in the second half to seal the points, the injury problems he has are concerning Argentina.
Several media outlets in Argentina are saying that Leo Messi’s ankle is not 100% for the two upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifiers. So much so that he is a doubt for Argentina’s game with Paraguay.
However, despite this pain, Messi formed part of the group in the training session which took place on Tuesday.
According to Argentinian media outlets, the Barcelona player is seemingly training normally, but Lionel Scaloni will talk to the striker to find out how he is.
The fact he started the Betis match on the bench was because of injury issues, Ronald Koeman said.
He managed to come on for the second half though and he did not seem to feel the effects of the ankle. However, the Argentinians do not want to risk him.
