Ronald Koeman's Comments Could Earn Him Punishment

According to reports from ‘Cadena SER’, the RFEF Competition Committee will decide on Wednesday whether to punish Ronald Koeman for his words after the Barcelona-Real Madrid match.

Real Madrid beat Barcelona in the first ‘Clásico’ of the season. The team, managed by Zinedine Zidane, went ahead from the penalty spot with 1-1 on the scoreboard.

Clément Lenglet grabbed Sergio Ramos, the referee blew the whistle and after checking the action with VAR the whole of Barcelona exploded. Including Ronald Koeman.

“I do not understand the decision of the referee, VAR only appears when decisions must be taken against Barcelona. Decisions are always against us. He tells me it’s a penalty, it’s incomprehensible” he said on ‘Barca TV’ at the end of the match.

The Spanish FA asked for action to be taken against the Dutch coach for his criticism of the refereeing and, according to reports from ‘Cadena SER’, it could come soon.

The Competition Committee will meet on Wednesday to decide whether to open a case against Ronald Koeman.
If this happens the sanction will not be known until approximately one month from now, at the beginning of December. The punishment, however, could be severe.
