Newcastle Want To Sign Chris Smalling
Chris Smalling’s good year at Roma hasn’t gone unnoticed. He will not remain at the Italian outfit, at least for now, so Newcastle have set their eyes on him.
Newcastle United want to bolster their defence ahead of next season. The English side have set their eyes on Chris Smalling, up for sale at Manchester United.
‘Sky Sports’ inform that the side led by Steve Bruce wants to sign the player from Manchester United, who last season had a great season in the Roma ranks.
Bruce’s intention is to have a homegrown team, so Smalling would enter within those parameters. This would be coupled with the seniority that the English defender already has.
Manchester United also want to sell Smalling to get cash for the signing of Jadon Sancho. The Borussia Dortmund player is the Red Devil’s main target.
