Vince Staples comes through with his new song titled So What (Episode 1). After announcing The Vince Staples Show earlier this week, he’s presented the debut episode along with his new single, “So What.” It opens up with Vince reading the National Inquirer before receiving a call about playing at one of Obama daughters’ birthday parties.
He receives an offer to perform for Malia Obama’s 21st birthday party, but needs a haircut before he can commit. Unfortunately it’s Monday, and “Black people don’t cut hair on Mondays.” At the suggestion of one of a moving company employee, he decides to visit a shop in Pasadena called “Katching All Fades” — an ominous sign, to be sure.
The new song is Vince Staples’ first official release since signing to Motown; he’s selling a limited-edition t-shirt to go along with the new single.
