Georgia Anne Muldrow shares a new album titled “VWETO II.” Listing 16 songs, the new album is available for download and streaming on your favorite platforms. Vweto means gravity in Swahili. The follow-up to her 2018 album Overload, the music project release was produced, written and mixed by Muldrow herself. The 36-year-old artist also shared “Emo Blues” and “When the fOnk Radiates” as early singles from the record.
In a press release, the artist explained that the project “is an astral funk-laden mindscape,” adding that it is “best used for long term-discussions, late-night car ciphers, deep contemplation, clearing the air after an argument or starting a brand new day.
Muldrow’s career has spanned over 15 years, and her contributions cannot be overstated. Her work has sparked comparisons to Nina Simone and Roberta Flack, and her laundry list of collaborations includes Mos Def and Erykah Badu. Muldrow’s dossier of work—a total of 18 albums and three EPs—embodies the saying “not new to this but true to this.”
