The Weeknd took the stage at the 88th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday (Feb. 28).
Backed by a string section, Abel performed his Oscar-nominated song “Earned It” off the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack. An aerialist performed moves above the stage, while Abel showed off his vocal flexibility, switching in and out of a falsetto. Meanwhile, scantily-clad dancers channeled the sexy Fifty Shades theme underneath chandeliers.
