Gorillaz release another track off the deluxe edition of their upcoming Humanz album, “The Apprentice.”
With talks of their latest project being inspired by “the end of the world,” one has to wonder if the connection between the song title and a former reality-show-host-turned-POTUS is anything but deliberate.
While this track is not as heavy on the hip-hop vibes as previous drops, the beat is on that eighties- futuristic tip and both Rag N Bone Man and RAY BLK lay down some soulful vocals. Zebra Katz comes through with a closing verse, crawling over the track with his low, gravelly voice.
Wale and PnB Rock team up on “Dilemma,” a mellow banger off Wale & DJ Luna’s upcoming mixtape.
The track is heavy on the harmonies, and both artists get ample space to flex their vocal chops. “Dilemma”, which laments the conundrum of a partner who simply won’t give it up, boasts some incredibly lush production from Squat.
Atmospheric synths float in the background, while next-level percussion keeps things grounded with a steady pulse. Both artists address some unnamed love interests, while striking a tone that’s at once braggadocious and tender, largely in part to the melody.
After releasing her surprise project, Dopamine, earlier in the month, the sexy singer returns with a visual for the melodic track, “New Crib.”
In the self-directed video, Mila gets erotic for the cameras with her hair stretched in different directions. To bring the lyrics of the song more to life, we see shots of her packing moving boxes, while she sings about regretting a hurtful relationship and hoping they can make up.
Later, she breaks it down over the bouncy bridge with a hot choreographed dance routine. Joined by two other dancers, Mila switches it up from a shiny bikini to a baggy denim jumpsuit and Timberland boots.
BMG recording artist steps into the spotlight with a major co-sign from Chris Brown on the catchy single “Jiu Jitsu,” off his forthcoming debut EP.
Over an infectious production by A.O., Triza, and James Foye “Keyz” III, the emerging artist sings out to a girl that stole his heart, admitting to being swole on her love and frustrated with the games.
Breezy slides in for the second verse about his photogenic lover. “Took them naked pictures, better give me my photo credit / Body perfect but I know you’re shy / Fuck a filter, you don’t need an edit / Picture perfect for me every time,” he sings.

When you think about dream collaborations Kanye West and 21 Savage isn’t a pairing, but thanks to Ducko McFli, their music sounds better than you might think. For his latest “HeyMcfli! Edit,” the Ear Drummers producer mashes up Kanye’s “Heartless” with 21’s “No Heartless” for a coldhearted remix that comes with some equally incredible artwork
Savage hits the same vein as early DMX and the Gravediggaz—the imagery is gory, and his taunts toward his targets borders on psychopathic. John Carpenter or David Lynch should direct one of his videos. “Issa Knife” memes aside, 21 is to be taken seriously. —Angel Diaz
