The rapper’s latest single is from the upcoming film Spiral, the latest installment in the Saw series of horror movies. The movie is expected to premiere on May 14, 2021 after many delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on the film and theater industry.

Savage’s association with the film was first teased on March 29, 2021, with the movie’s official social media sources posting a promotional picture of Savage. The song was then previewed in the movie’s second official trailer the day after. On March 30, Savage announced via Instagram that he would be in charge of the film’s soundtrack.

While past films in the franchise have had a more rock-leaning soundtrack, “Spiral” puts a hip-hop spin on the franchise’s classic theme ”Hello Zepp,” a dramatic piece of incidental music composed by Charlie Clouser for the series’ first installment.
