hernew track follows up ‘BACK 2 BACK’ released in October of this year. Written by Samantha Jade and Carmen Reece (Ariana Grande, Fifth Harmony, Guy Sebastian) and produced by ’ShrekpoPPins’ (Carmen Reece and G’harah “PK” Degeddingseze), ‘New Boy’ came together quickly for the friends and long-time collaborators.

The song is about ‘that’ spark that comes from new beginnings, whether that’s taking the leap with a new love, pursuing a career change or stepping into that next chapter.

The beat driven track was written in 2019 with a glass of rose or two in hand as Samantha Jade cheekily recalls, “All I could see when I was writing it was people on the beach dancing, or putting it on in the car, hair blowing out of the window and all.”

For the video clip, Samantha Jade has teamed up with Matt Lee (So You Think You Can Dance), who also worked with Samantha to choreograph the 2019 hit ‘Bounce’. The video is directed by James Chappell, who won ‘BEST VIDEO’ at the 2019 ARIA Awards for Guy Sebastian’s ‘Choir’, and also directed ‘Bounce’.
