It seems the logical next step for the Catalan giants. However, they are reluctant to renew the contract of an 18-year-old currently injured and already tied down until 2022.
Fati’s representatives see differently. Agent Jorge Mendes and father Par Bori and pushing for an extension. Fati last signed in 2019 as a minor, meaning he couldn’t sign a deal lasting more than three years.
Ronald Koeman has sided with the player. According to ‘Mundo Deportivo’, he has asked the management to renew the attacker until 2026.
At 18 years of age, Ansu Fati won’t be worried about committing long-term. The Camp Nou understands that the Spain international is one of the key pieces in the puzzle for Barcelona’s future.
