The footballer has left the Nigerian national team’s training camp to return to Napoli, as he is suffering from physical problems.
The club fears that he will not be able to recover in time for Sunday’s important match against Serie A leaders Milan.
Victor Osimhen started in the 4-4 draw between Nigeria and Sierra Leone for a place in the African Cup. But the Napoli player was forced to leave the match in the 78th minute, leaving his place to Onuachu.
He played in the match and got two superb assists to give Iwobi and Chukwueze Nigeria’s third and fourth goals, Osimhen ended up leaving the camp a couple of days later due to physical problems.
A casualty mentioned by ‘Sky Sports’, who tried to reassure the fans that the Nigerian does not have a fracture or suffer a serious injury, but that it could be a muscular issue.
Despite this, the Italian team fears that the former Lille player will not be available for the return of the Serie A next weekend, specifically on Sunday 22, when Napoli, third in the table, will take on current leaders Milan.
