Ansu Fati will be out for four months after having an operation on his meniscus injury.

Terrible news for Barcelona. In an official statement from the club, the worst was confirmed and Ansu Fati will be out for four months after having an operation on his meniscus injury.

The club said that the operation was a success and carried out by Dr. Ramon Cugat. It is a real shame for the 18-year-old winger.

The first match back for Fati could be the Champions League last 16 2nd leg, or failing that the La Liga home match against Huesca on the weekend of the 14th March.

“On Monday the player had successful surgery on the internal meniscus of his left knee”, the Barcelona statement started.

“The first team player Ansu Fati has been operated on successfully by Dr. Ramon Cugat for the injury to the internal meniscus of his left knee under the supervision of the Club’s medical staff. The player will be out for approximately four months”, it continued.

Fati has played 43 matches for Barcelona and netted 13 goals.
