Charli XCX delivers new song “Blame It On Your Love” featuring Lizzo. Available for download and streaming, Charli XCX revealed that her next album will be “kind of a continuation of Pop 2”, and “more Charli than ever before”.
“Blame It On Your Love” is a demo recorded by Charli XCX and production duo Stargate in the sessions for her yet-unreleased third record. The track was later entirely re-worked by producers A. G. Cook, Life Sim, and Lil Data, and was included in this remixed form on XCX’s 2017 mixtape Pop 2.
Multiple demos of the track have leaked, one of which includes vocals from an unknown male singer. Another version includes a verse from Stefflon Don but Charli linked up with Lizzo for the final release.
Charli XCX hasn’t released new music since last year’s Troye Sivan collaboration “1999”. Last week she teased her fans over the potential release of “Taxi”.
The “Girls Night Out” singer also recently worked with MNEK on TWICE’s “Girls Like Us” track.
Lizzo and Charli XCX were spotted filming a project in New York yesterday.
