Knxwledge has emerged with a new loosie, the soulful “douwrong_.” The track kicks off with a soulful loop, over which intimate lyrics strike a candlelit tone. The instrumental evokes shades of vintage Yeezy, when he used to get down during the sampling era. To call this a slow-burn is an understatement; it takes a little over two minutes for the drums to kick in, adding a lush groove to the expansive arrangement. Romance is undoubtedly the theme, as Knx croons sweet nothings, deviating into adult conversation when the mood is right.
It’s a bit of a wanderer, post-coital in nature, pleasant though not assertive. It’s a refreshing dose for those hoping to revisit a lost era, and Knx has yet to sell himself short. We can only hope he’ll be upping the frequency of these drops.
