Sam Smith was in the news for how he felt about Pop music legend, Michael Jackson. Sam Smith has received a fierce backlash online, after he admitted that he isn’t a fan of Michael Jackson.
The late King of Pop hasn’t found a fan in the soul star. Sam revealed how he felt as he holidayed with Adam Lambert, who recorded a video of the pair relaxing on a boat. Smith admits: “I don’t like Michael Jackson, but this is a good song.” The clip ends right after a few friends are heard to reply “wow’, admitting their surprise at the admission.
But along with their surprise, Smith has attracted a fair bit of anger online too.
Posting on Twitter, one fan wrote: “Yes Sam Smith can have his opinion, of course. But you can’t just say ‘I don’t like Michael Jackson’, you have to say ‘I’m very sorry but Michael Jackson’s songs aren’t my fave.’
“That’s it. Pay some respect to the ultimate LEGEND and forever #1 of billions.”
Another raged: “Sam Smith doesn’t like Michael Jackson. The same Sam Smith whose Bond theme sounded like Earth Song?”
However, there was also some defence for Smith too – with one fan defending his right to dislike MJ.
