Gorillaz finally come through with a brand new album titled “The Now Now.”
Gorillaz have been in the rumor mill about having an album in the works and now have finally come forth with a new album titled “The Now Now.” The bans will also be previewing fans with the release of 2 new track titled Hollywood which features rap music vet Snoop Dogg and Idaho.
There’s been quite a bit of speculation regarding a new project from Gorillaz lately. Back in March, Damon Albarn told concert goers in Chile that an album was coming soon. Then, this weekend at All Points East festival, the band teased something big, with a number of cryptic posters and a website that plays a funky new snippet.
Now, it’s official: Gorillaz’s new album is titled The Now Now, and it’s dropping June 29. The news was broke via Jamie Hewlett’s wife Emma via Instagram story, Consequence of Sound reports. Details on the project are scant, but in the mean time, check out a recording of the band’s new track with Snoop Dogg, “Hollywood.”
The band first teased the release of its sixth album with a newly launched website, TheNowNow.tv. The website features a teaser video in which Gorillaz’s own 2-D can be seen sitting with a guitar. Additionally, posters appearing at this weekend’s All Points East Festival in London included the phrase “NO MORE UNICORNS ANYMORE. That same phrase recently appeared in artwork created by Gorillaz co-founder Jamie Hewlett.
