Back In January, Rich The Kid announced that he and Kendrick Lamar had some new music coming. “Blessed to work wit Kendrick Lamar last nite legendary,” he wrote, posting a picture of himself and Lamar in the studio. The post was later deleted, and we heard no updates on the track for months. Just as it seemed the track may be another collab teased but never officially released, “New Freezer,” the new single from Rich featuring Kendrick has arrived via Zane Lowe’s World Record on Beats 1 Radio.
In an interview with Zane, Rich explained how the song came together. “I played two records. I had just recorded “New Freezer” recently,” he said, explaining that Kendrick was immediately impressed by the track. “Right when he heard it, he’s like ‘yo, who else on this song?!’… ‘Yo I gotta get on this one, this shit dumb!'”
