Here is “Feel It In The Air” an emotionally-charged opening track on Beanie Sigel’s The B. Coming, an album recorded just before the Philly rapper served jail time in 2004. It’s hard to top the original, but DeJ Loaf justifies her use of the beat on her new freestyle.
Her take is much more melodic, but contains a similar urgency. She opens the track by recalling when she was traveling from South Africa, and security went through her purse, asking the rapper how much money she had brought with her. According to DeJ, she never even thought about how much cash she had grabbed from her place before heading to the airport. A symbol of how far she’s come. This follows “Beef N Broccoli,” DeJ’s release from September.
