Former NFL Star Louis Nix III Died At 29

Former NFL Star Louis Nix III has died at the age of 29.

Louis Nix III who made his football breakthrough with college team Notre Dame Fighting Irish before being drafted by the Houston Texans in 2014, was found dead on Saturday by local police in Jacksonville, Florida. The player’s mother later confirmed the death via Action News Jacksonville.

The local sheriff’s office pulled a vehicle relating to Nix’s car from a pond with the local police Twitter account confirming that later they had located Nix, but made no reference if the 29-year-old was found dead or alive, simply stating that they had ‘located’ him.

On Friday, the player’s mother confirmed to Action News that her son had been missing since Wednesday and was worried about his welfare, fearing for his safety with the last time the former NFL star being sighted was on Tuesday morning at 10:00 in the morning when he left his father’s house in Jacksonville.

December incident

Nix was the victim of a shooting last December at a local gas station with the filling station close to the area where his vehicle was found with his mother suggesting that both incidents were not connected.

Following the shooting last year, Nix was hospitalised for two weeks with shrapnel fragments lodged in his lungs. Nix was an NFL player between 2014-2017 and played with Houston Texans, NY Giants, Washington Football Team and the Jacksonville Jaguars and was mainly used as a reserve player.
