The former EastEnders actor starsu in the brand new series next month as he joins a host of fellow celebs to take on day-to-day life of working on a farm.
Shaun Williamson has revealed the reason behind him singing up for MTV’s Celebs on the Farm… money.
The former EastEnders actor – who played Barry on the hit soap – stars in the brand new series next month as he joins a host of fellow celebs to take on day-to-day life of working on a farm.
And while stars may have signed up for the show in search for a change of scenery after countless lockdowns, for Shaun it was the paycheck that made him say yes.
Ahead of the show’s launch, Shaun opened up about his decision to take part.
“My career goal has been to earn enough money to survive basically,” he said.
“I’m a divorcee, so I’ve got a mortgage on a second house, so my career plan is just to have fun, enjoy myself, and survive financially.
“So Celebs on the Farm was great to come along in what was a very tough year.”
Reflecting on his experience working on a farm, Shaun said it was “bitterly cold” and “proper hard work”.
“I suppose I was slightly taken aback when we realised that this was genuine farming, there’s no trickery,” he said.
“We had to herd sheep, milk cows, milk goats, give rams a once-over before they went and did their thing with ewes, build a chicken coop and a dry stone wall.
“It was proper hard work, it really was, at the end of the day even though you were cold and wet and tired, you always had a real sense of achievement, it was really great.”
This year, Shaun revealed he is just desperate to get some more work booked in and for it not to be cancelled after so many of his previous projects were canned.
“I’m not a star, I’m not in a position to guide my career,” he insisted.
“I’m one of these people who waits for the phone to go and see where it takes me… I just want the phone to keep ringing.”
