‘Vikings’ actor Alexander Ludwig has gotten married.
The ‘Vikings’ actor got engaged to partner Lauren Dear in November and the couple have now surprised fans after revealing they eloped because “life is too short” for them to waste any more time not being husband and wife.
Sharing a photo from a ski resort in Utah, Alexander wrote on Instagram: “My wife, my best friend, the future mother of my children, my everything.
“We decided to elope. It has been such a crazy year but it certainly put things into perspective. Life is too short And i didnt want to spend another day without calling this beautiful woman my wife. (sic)”
And though the pair loved every minute of their “perfect beginning”, Alexander confirmed they will also enjoy a celebration with their friends and family at a later date.
He added: “Of course when things settle down we will have a proper celebration with our friends and family but for now- the love of my life, our dog yam, a yurt on a mountain top in the middle of nowhere sounded like the perfect beginning.”
Lauren shared the same photo on her own account as she gushed about her new husband.
She wrote: “This last year was filled with a lot of uncertainty and doubt but this was the easiest decision of my life. I think we all learned in some way or another to look inside ourselves and find what truly makes us happy.
“Thank you to 2020 for bringing this guy into my life. I will love you forever @alexanderludwig. You continue to show me what life is truly about every day and how to be strong, resilient and courageous. I am a better person by your side.”
The 28-year-old actor had previously said he planned to invite his ‘Vikings’ co-stars to his wedding and suggested he would ask castmate Travis Fimmel to be one of his groomsmen.
He said: “Will there be ‘Vikings’ co-stars at the wedding? Yeah, they’re all invited, of course. It’s just going to be, depending if we’re going to have a big one or a small one.
But to put it into perspective, Travis was over at my family’s house for dinner in Vancouver the other night when I wasn’t even there. I mean, he’s family already. So, he’ll definitely be there.
“He’ll probably be one of the groomsmen, for sure. You’ll watch him slowly destroy the wedding.”
