Solsjkaer Admitted That He Should Have Taken Fred Off At Half-Time

Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer has admitted that he should have taken Fred off at half-time.

Manchester United manager admitted that he may have made a mistake by not substituting Fred at half-time in the game against PSG in the Champions League last night.

The midfielder was lucky not to be sent off in the first-half after an apparent headbutt on Leandro Paredes and was only given a yellow card despite the ref reviewing the decision at the pitchside VAR monitor.

Unfortunately for the Red Devils, his luck didn’t last into the second-half.

Ole said:

“He played well but with the decision the referee made you maybe look back and say you should have (taken him off)”.

Fred looked like a loose cannon throughout the first-half and many suggested that he would be subbed at the interval.

Instead, the Brazilian stayed on the pitch and received a second yellow card for a foul on former United player Ander Herrera just second after PSG retook the lead.

The French side went on to win 3-1 at Old Trafford and keep their hopes of progression alive.
