Zlatan was spectacular against Napoli but came off in pain due to an injury. It could have been a well-rounded Sunday night for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but no. He scored the first two for Milan against Napoli, and even a third which cancelled for offside.
Worse still, he had to ask to be subbed shortly afterwards due to pain in his left thigh.
He scored two but his third was cancelled and what happened was what nobody in Milan wants to see. Zlatan Ibrahimovic broke. The Swede noticed a tightness in his thigh and asked to be subbed after playing 79 minutes of the match.
He was the hero of San Paolo. He had opened the game with the first goal, and left the match almost beyond doubt with the second one. He even scored a third, but this was disallowed.
It was a perfect night, but it threatened to turn into a nightmare for the Milan fans. As the veteran Swedish striker reached for his leg and start stretching, the red and black half of Milan held their breath.
Zlatan had noticed a tightness in his muscle.
He tried to continue, but he knew it was no good for him. Ibra is an ‘old dog’ and unfortunately for him he knows what it is to have to deal with injuries, even though these are not common for him due to his great natural physique.
Caution prevailed, and he called for change. In the 79th minute of the match, with 1-2 on the scoreboard, Zlatan gave his place to Colombo, and saw from the bench how Hauge finished the match in 95′.
