Barcelona President Stopped The Departure Of Luis Suarez.
Luis Suarez has been on the exit table for a long time at FC Barcelona now. Even though the Uruguayan initially wanted to stay, he knows that his time at the Catalan club is over.
He is very close to a transfer to Atletico Madrid, but as things stand, president Josep Maria Bartomeu is blocking his transfer.
Bartomeu and Suarez have an agreement which states that the 33-year-old cannot sign for top-tier clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester City, and PSG.
Even though Atletico Madrid is not included in the list, after Bartomeu met with his directors, he told them to stop everything regarding the transfer, and that it is a mistake letting him go for free.
Bartomeu has not signed an agreement to terminate Suarez’s contract yet, but it is drafted. As the president reversed the operation, Bartomeu asked his board to include Atletico to the teams he cannot leave to for free.
Atletico Madrid plans to sign a 2-year contract with Suarez, but if the La Liga side cannot manage to sign the Uruguayan, they plan to go for Cavani, as reported by Onda Cero.
