Twitter Users Share Hilarious Fake Netflix Descriptions Of Famous TV Shows And Movies

The hashtag, #netflixdescriptions, is inspired by the streaming services’ tendency to pen unusual descriptions of titles in its library.

Now, social media users have joined in on the trend, writing the most abstract and hysterical descriptions they can think of for various beloved shows and movies.

“In a dystopian hellscape where everyone has TVs surgically grafted to them, where vacuum cleaners come alive, and where even the sun laughs at you: how can four mutants survive?” wrote one user.

In an accompanying photo, the user revealed the show they were talking about: The Teletubbies.

“Wimbledon. A town in disarray. Until one gang had the courage to do something about it,” wrote another user. “THE WOMBLES, coming soon to Netflix.”

“When you do the obvious you’re eliminated. Only the reckless stand a chance,” a third wrote. “Pointless.”

Netflix viewers have been noticing the streaming services’ unusual descriptors for some time, with one viral tweet highlighting a rather blunt description of Gossip Girl.

“Rich, unreasonably attractive private school students do horrible, scandalous things to each other. Repeatedly,” reads the description.

Buzzfeed compiled a list of strange descriptions, including one of Friends that took a swipe at the characters’ unfairly nice apartments.
