Kylie Jenner Slammed For ‘White Privilege’ After Being Accused Of Doing A Photoshoot On Sacred Indigenous Land
Kylie Jenner has come under fire for a recent photoshoot she posed for while in a desert canyon in Utah. The 22-year-old mogul was on vacation and visited a slot canyon – a long and deep channel or drainageway with rock walls – which many believe to be Antelope Canyon on Navajo land. The Navajo Nation has one of the highest per capita infection rates of coronavirus across the US.
This is due, in part, to disproportionate rates of heart disease and diabetes on the reservation. 30 per cent of homes are without running water, which makes washing hands a challenge.
Kylie Jenner is yet to publicly comment on the controversy.

How disrespectful of @KylieJenner to vacation on Navajo land despite the very public announcements asking “tourists” to stay off the reservation. But! Her damn photos were more important than our sovereignty. #TheNerve #WhitePrivilege #Covid19 #GoHomeStayHome #AzdaaDeegis

White privileged at its finest.@KylieJenner gets to do a photoshoot on Navajo land BUT Navajos closed those sites due to COVID and OUR people are on lockdowns. Did you donate anything to help the Navajo nation and tribes land you’re on while potentially exposing them? No. https://t.co/zYyjpsTZYA

@KylieJenner the fact that you were on Native American land during the most crucial time for us Navajos is such a disrespect on our community! The least you could’ve done was donate COVID supplies while you were out there in AZ. white privilege at its finest.
