Netflix series Stranger Things Season 4 Could be resuming Filming In September.

Stranger Things season 4 could “tentatively” return to production on September 17, according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter.

Filming was suspended on the hugely popular Netflix series back in March as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, but the film and TV industry is now making gradual steps back to normality.

Stranger Things has been filming in Georgia, which is hoping to be one of the main US states in leading the restart of film and TV productions, according to THR’s report.

How this delay to production will affect the release date of the fourth season remains to be seen, with Hopper actor David Harbour previously suggesting that it would “probably be pushed back”.

In addition to Stranger Things, Netflix is also planning to resume production on the comedy thriller Red Notice, starring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot, which is also tipped to return to filming in Georgia.

“Georgians want to get back to work and show that we can not only beat this virus but be leaders in this industry to hopefully encourage America to get back to work,” said John Rooker, the founder and owner of Atlanta Metro Studios (AMS), filming location of HBO’s Watchmen.

Other projects that are also set to resume filming in the US state include the film adaptation of the musical Dear Evan Hansen, Sylvester Stallone’s new movie Samaritan, and two Marvel Disney+ series’ – Loki and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Stranger Things seasons 1-3 are now streaming on Netflix. A release date for season 4 is yet to be confirmed.
