Mabel shares new song and video, Boyfriend [Download]

Mabel returns with a new song and video titled “Boyfriend.” Available for download and streaming, the upbeat self-love anthem that warns girls to not lose their value when searching for a significant other. Mabel sings about wanting a boyfriend that can handle her.

The Brit award winner also explains that track has a message of self-empowerment, tweeting that “wanting someone in your life doesn’t mean you can’t still be dat bitchh”.

“I need a rude boy to tell me something sweet

Make me feel strong when I’m taking control
I’ve been looking for my shawty

Boyfriend was co-written by pop hitmakers and Kamille and Steve Mac, who worked with Mabel on her big hits Don’t Call Me Up and Mad Love. The record was probably supposed to be added to Mabel’s debut album High Expectations, released in August 2019.
