Mourinho to Spurs as Manutd push for Pochettino
Tottenham have contacted Jose Mourinho about replacing Mauricio Pochettino with Manchester United’s interest in the Argentine growing, according to reports.
Despite enduring a poor start to the season with Spurs following last season’s run to the Champions League final, numerous reports have indicated that Pochettino is keen to stay in North London.
However, the Daily Express says that with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer facing uncertainty over his future at United, the Red Devils are looking at the Argentine as a potential replacement at Old Trafford for next season.
What’s more, Soccerlink now claim that Spurs have got their eye on Mourinho as a successor to Pochettino if he moves up north, the Portuguese said to be a man who they hold in high esteem
The source says that Tottenham are in initial negotiations with Mourinho about how he would fit in in North London, although discussions are said to be at an early stage.
Mourinho has been out of work since he was sacked by United in December following a 3-1 loss to Liverpool at Anfield.
Meanwhile, Spain head coach Roberto Moreno has offered an update on the fitness of Red Devils goalkeeper David de Gea, who went down injured in his country’s Euro 2020 qualifying draw with Sweden on Tuesday night.
