Miley Cyrus is back with a new song titled Slide Away. Available for download and streaming, the new song arrives days after her marriage with Liam Hemsworth ended.
“Once upon a time it was made for us, woke up one day and it turned to dust,” Cyrus continues. “Baby, we were found, but now we’re lost / So it’s time to let it go.”
Miley Cyrus goes on to make a drug and alcohol reference, singing, “I want my house in the hills / don’t want the whisky and pills / I don’t give up easily but I don’t think I’m down.”
“Move on, we’re not 17 / I’m not who I used to be,” Cyrus adds. “You said that everything changed / You’re right I’m grown now.”
Cyrus released the She Is Coming EP—the first in a planned trilogy of EPs slated to arrive this year. It follows her 2017 album Younger Now. Last month, Cyrus released the body-positive video for “Mother’s Daughter,” featuring cameos from Aaron Philip, Casil McArthur, Lacey Baker, Amazon Ashley and others. She released the EP, She Is Coming, at the end of May, which will later be a part of a full collection of songs titled She Is Miley Cyrus.
