The 1975 have released a new song titled “The 1975.” Available for download and streaing, the track is the first to be taken from the British band’s new album Notes On A Conditional Form and features a speech by environmental advocate Greta Thunberg.
Her speech on “The 1975” ends with her saying, “We can no longer save the world by playing by the rules because the rules have to be changed. Everything has to change and it has to start today. It is time for civil disobedience. It is time to rebel.”
Thunberg, 16, is outspoken on climate change issues. In August 2018 she staged a “School Strike for Climate” in front of the Swedish Parliament. This, in turn, inspired students in the U.K., Japan, and Australia to join her in her #FridaysforFuture demonstrations.
