21 year old Bella Thorne took to Twitter on Saturday to upload topless photos herself, attempting to put an end to a hacker’s attempts to expose the young actress and author. Along with the photos, Thorne uploaded screenshots of messaged shared with the hacker, who sent her multiple photos, confirming his access.
Bella – best known for her role in the Disney show Shake It Up – posted screenshots of messages from an anonymous person, sending the actress her own topless selfies as well as personal videos and texting: ‘YO BELLA! Got all the videos.’
“For the last 24 hours, I have been threatened with my own nudes,” Throne penned in a brief statement in the post. “I feel gross, I feel watched, I feel someone has taken something from me that I only wanted one special person to see […] For too long I let a man take advantage of me over and over and I’m fucking sick of it.”
The Midnight Sun star continued: ‘Here’s the photos he’s been threatening me with, in other words here’s my boobies. So here f*** u, and the last 24 hours I have been crying instead of celebrating my book while doing my book press. Oh yea, the FBI will be at your house shortly, so watch. Your. Mother. F***in. Back.’ While there were a number of crude replies to the pictures, many fans praised Bella for reclaiming the power in the awful situation.
She went on to reveal that the hacker also sent Thorne nude photos of other celebrities. “He won’t stop with me or them,” she declared. Thorne also detailed the fact that she has not been able to focus on a current press run for her new book The Life of a Wannabe Mogul: Mental Disarray. According to her, the decision to upload the photos herself has brought about a sense of relief. She concludes by warning her attacker that the FBI will be making their way to his home soon.
Bella – who is currently at war with ex Mod Sun after they ended their two-year romance – later told The Hollywood Reporter that while she is furious with the hacker, she doesn’t want to ‘ruin’ him as she believes he’s a teenager. The actress, who has just released a compilation of poetry and essays called The Life Of A Wannabe Mogul: Mental Disarray, said: ‘This kid sounds like he’s 17, as much as I’m so angry and wanted to f*** him up over doing this to people I just wanted to teach him a lesson.
‘He’s still a kid and we make mistakes, this mistake is a bad one. But I don’t want some 17 year old’s whole life ruined because he wasn’t thinking straight and being a dumbass.’ Bella added: ‘Plus, he’s obviously smart so if he got on the right side of the tracks he could actually possibly help our community and be an alliance. You can’t always tear someone down for their bad sides but more so build up their good sides.’
