Gucci Mane is here with his new album titled Gucci Delusions Of Grandeur.
Premiering his latest single on Ebro’s Beats 1 Radio show today, Gucci Mane announced that his next album is on the way soon. He dropped Evil Genius at the end of last year and in order to complement that body of work, Wop is coming through with Delusions of Grandeur next. The first single from Delusions features Meek Mill and Gucci is proud of what they were able to accomplish. Speaking with Ebro, he said that they made the song together at a penthouse in Miami.
It feels special. It feels special. Even when we recorded it man, just the vibe. Just sitting down talking, man, just you know what we had in our lives, man, that was special. Like two kings, it’s like salute to salute. Like man, you made it. You made it through. I was praying for you, I was praying for you. I was rooting for you. I knew this was going to happen. That was serious, man.
Guwop just celebrated his third year of freedom with a shirtless (of course) video by a beautiful pool, seemingly taken by his wife. “I got out the feds 3 years ago today,” he captioned the heartwarming post. “My wife was just a huge inspiration…Thank You.”
Since his release, he’s shared a steady stream of well-received albums and mixtapes, stayed clean and fit, written an autobiography and married Keyshia Ka’Oir. Beyond that, his years in prison gave the world time to reflect on his absence and he returned home to a new generation of rappers who are more than willing to give him his credit as an innovator and an icon.
Gucci credited his prison stay for his healthier lifestyle, noting that he likely would have succumbed to drug addiction had he not been forced to give it up behind bars.
“I think I would have been dead, probably,” he said in an interview with Zane Lowe. “I wouldn’t want to do it like that again, but you know… I don’t know. Drugs could’ve killed me, so you don’t know the future, but at the same time, jail was so hard, so I don’t know.”
