Sleepy Tom is back with a new song called Amateurs which features The Lights. Available for download and streaming on your favorite platforms, Sleepy Tom kicks off the weekend with his newest record. Sleepy Tom — born Cam Tatham in Squamish, British Columbia — spun a brand of deep house befitting of the ’90s on his debut EP, The Currency.
Released in early 2013 on Fool’s Gold Records, the four-song release thumped and throbbed like Disclosure (with just a bit more stank on the kick) and packed enough bombastic excitement for the festival scene, much like forebears Justice and Skrillex.
Alt-pop phenomenon Lights trough her first three records has built an incredibly passionate fanbase, selling out tours around the world, earning 100M in U.S. streams, 200K in U.S. album sales, and two JUNO Awards, not to mention the 2M + rabid fans who follow her every move online. Yet through this success, she felt like she had more important things to say through her music but just didn’t know how to get them out. Then came En, a fictional character in a post-apocalyptic world created in Lights’ imagination that is not altogether different from herself.
