Majozi is here with his new album titled Majozi. His SAMA-nominated debut album, ‘Fire’, includes the #1 single ‘Breathing’, as well as the hit collaboration with Tresor, ‘The Woods’.
According to Majozi’s press release, ‘Waiting’ was inspired by Daft Punk, and originally the song focused on finding hope in the face of feelings of inadequacy. Later, Majozi got together with Brad Klynsmith (Gangs of Ballet) and evolved the song into a solid story dealing with relationships and love. Ooooh, sounds amazing!
I have always wanted to write a follow up to ‘Darling’, hence ‘Darling Pt. 2’ came to life. I also wanted to write a love song as good as Ed Sheeran without actually being in love, just to see if it was possible. It’s not.
For this album I wrote about a lot of personal experiences and where my mind was at the time. Every song has some poetic license, but for the most part beneath the layers are personal stories, dreams and desires.
I Want Your Love. It’s one of my favourites and first songs I wrote for the album. It has a little throwback 90’s feel that I love. I was listening to a lot of Janet Jackson at the time. No jokes. I love the bass in those songs.
