The collaboration comes months after Pop Smoke was killed during a home invasion in Los Angeles. French spoke about his relationship with the New York rapper during an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe.
“A lot of people don’t realize how close me and Pop Smoke was,” said Montana. “We was friends outside the music and we had a lot of music together that we was planning on putting out, and I’m just so sad we didn’t get a chance to do that… He represents the culture; he represents everything about New York.”
In August of last year when Pop was still popping with the song of the summer ‘Welcome To The Party’, he was seen with French shooting a music video at Red Carpet of Streetball in New York. It turns out it was for this, French’s new song ‘Double G’.
