The songs come with the announcement that Wonder has formed his own, new label So What the Fuss Music (which will be distributed by Republic Records), leaving Motown Records; the only label he’s known since he was 11 years old. “Even if I’ve left Motown, I never leave Motown,” he told journalists during a Zoom media event. “That’s Detroit.”
These new songs may be a part of an EP Wonder may release in the future. “In these times, we are hearing the most poignant wake-up calls and cries for this nation and the world to, please, heed our need for love, peace and unity,” Wonder said in a statement.”
He has made notable contributions to projects from Big Sean (Detroit 2), Travis Scott (“STOP TRYING TO BE GOD“) and Common (“Black America Again“) in recent times.
