Atifemi is about to become the voice of the Afro Rap. The rapper coming out of Osun state has been in the game building a name for himself for quite a while and like every up and comer, Atifemi looks set to take on the mainstage.
This weekend, he released his new single “Come Again” featuring usual collaborator Luminary Beatz. Before that, he showcased his rap abilities and lyrical prowess tackling classic beats.
His versatility and knack for hard punching bars and 16s take him way beyond your average rap act. The fact that he does all this in his mother tongue (Yoruba) is spectacular.
He isn’t the first to rap like this. Today we have Olamide and the late DaGrin as some of the mainstays in the YoruRap genre. Atifemi is keeping that going in a time where many Nigerians do not see rap as a main genre.
To Atifemi, rap music is the music to express true feelings, emotions and outbursts.

Atifemi’s new single is a fine introduction for anyone that’s unaware of his previous work. As one of the new voices emerging out of the West, his songwriting abilities provide a glimpse into his trajectory.
A native of Osun state now residing in Lagos, Atifemi has been performing infront of audiences since the age of five. He has attributed his love for music from listening to the Afrobeat, AfroJuju oldies. Fela Kuti and King Sunny Ade are main figures in his catalogue and hopes to recreate, infuse and reproduce their sounds to the world just as Burna Boy, Davido and Wizkid are doing.
With his latest single, he hopes to continue to release new music on a more steady level.
