Lewandowski Won Player Of The Year.

Robert Lewandowski, one of the great figures of Bayern Munich, has been chosen as player of the year by the German magazine ‘Kicker’, while the best manager has been given to Hansi Flick, also in charge of the Bavarian side.

The Polish striker triumphed in the voting ahead of Thomas Müller, who came second. In the manager awards, Hansi Flick beat Jürgen Klopp.

The Polish striker won the voting carried out amongst sports journalists with 276 points, while his Bayern teammate Thomas Müller was second with 54.

An acknowledgment for the Polish striker, who nevertheless didn’t hesitate in stating his frustration at not being eligible for a Ballon d’Or that he would have had a high chance of winning this year. Lewandowski affirmed that he deserved the award, that this year will be postponed because of the health crisis.

Flick, in charge of the Bavarian side since November, when he replaced Niko Kovac, won the manager category with 223 points.

Second was his compatriot Jürgen Klopp, with the Liverpool boss getting 164 points.
