Will Smith, Kevin Hart will be starring in a remake of ‘Planes, Trains And Automobiles.’ Hart officially announced the movie on Instagram. The original film starred Steve Martin and John Candy as two strangers who become traveling partners trying to get home for Thanksgiving after their flights get canceled. In their quest to get back, a number of hilarious disasters follow.

On Monday, Deadline reported that Kevin Hart and Will Smith will be shooting a remake of the 1987 film Planes, Trains and Automobiles for Paramount Pictures through their respective companies, Heartbeat Productions and Westbrook Studios. Hart confirmed the news on Instagram Monday afternoon.

“I’ve been patiently waiting for the right project to team up with my brother with,” he wrote. “We found it and are developing it together with our teams. This will be huge for us and the city of brotherly love aka Philadelphia.”

Aeysha Carr, supervising producer and writer of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and the upcoming Hulu series Woke, will write the movie’s script. In addition to Nine-Nine, Carr has writing credits for Rel, The Carmichael Show, Mixology, Everybody Hates Chris, and My Wife and Kids.

The film debuted at third in the weekend of its release. grossed $49.5 million worldwide on a $30 million budget. Despite the modest numbers, the film received rave reviews. Siskel & Ebert gave the movie two thumbs up, while 56 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes give the movie a 91% rating.

The news comes on the heels of Will Smith announcing that he’d be executive producing a dramatic reboot of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
