The nearly seven-minute long improvisational piano piece based on a composition of the same name by Julius Eastman. Described as a “piano meditation” on the original song, the piece was performed and recorded at Verse, Los Angeles.
First performed by Hynes at FORM and Jammcard’s Black Power Live festival, “Evil N****r” is his first new music since the release of his score for last year’s Melina Matsoukas-directed Queen & Slim.
