Nigerians Loot & Destroy Shops, Cars and properties in Lagos

It is no longer news that many Nigerian and other African nationals in South Africa have been targeted by SOUTH Africans in a recent xenophobic attack which has gone on for more than a week. While government officials have made statemeits to calm the nerves of many Nigerians, some feel enough is enough. Some have taken matters into their own hands and have gone into the streets to vandalize aand loot shops and businesses owned by South Africans.

With MTN, Dstv, PEP as primary targets, some Nigerians were seen on the streets destroying the car of some Chinese foreigners and attacking them in Lagos.

The violent demonstration was in reaction to xenophobic attacks on Nigerians living in South Africa over the past three days.

Some police officers arrived at the scene which forced the protesters to run away.

Bicycles, electronics, grocery items looted as rioters break into #Shoprite outlet in Lagos.

A Nigerian lady has cried out on twitter after her goods worth millions of naira was stolen by some Nigerians at Novare mall, Lekki.

She wrote:

My store at Novare, Timekeepers Novare mall, Sangotedo, Lekki, has been broken into, looted and goods worth millions has been carted away with, this is getting out of hand, this happened this evening, am so sad.. Plz share this

Nigerians who claimed they were protesting against the attacks against Nigerians in South Africa used that opportunity to loot some valuable items inside Shoprite Mall in Surulere, Lagos State.

Angry youths have reportedly set an MTN Office on fire in the Bodija area of Ibadan, Oyo state capital. According to report, the office had earlier been shut over widespread attacks on South African companies in the country.

Angry protesters had attempted to vandalise the office during the day but security operatives resisted the attack.

Meanwhile, some hoodlums regrouped at night and set the office on fire.
