Burna Boy was live to talk about his new album African Giant and aslo perform his hit song Ye on Trevor Noah The Daily Show. Burna boy who recently released his Fourth studio album ‘AFRICAN GIANT’ Becomes the first Nigerian to be featured on the Central Comedy TV Channel show ‘The daily Show’ Which is among the most popular TV show in America.
The Daily Show is an American late-night talk and news satire television program. It airs each Monday through Thursday on Comedy Central. Describing itself as a fake news program, The Daily Show draws its comedy and satire from recent news stories, political figures, media organizations, and often uses self-referential humor as well.
In an interview with Noah, Burna Boy explained the reasons for his outburst over the Coachella poster in January. The incident, which birthed the ‘African Giant’ moniker, saw Burna Boy accuse Coachella of disrespecting him by writing his name in small fonts.
Explaining the situation to Noah, he said, “I am looking for my name and I can’t find my name. I am like – am I really performing?
“They had to circle it for me. That’s never happened to me before. I am used to being the African giant.
“I didn’t like it and I expressed myself. Not just for that but so, everyone that comes after me won’t have to go through that,” he said.
Trevor Noah noted that people might not understand Burna Boy’s huge influence as an artist in Nigeria and in Africa, the continent with one of the world’s largest population.
Inspired by the artwork for the African Giant album, ‘Burna Bank’ is, “The installation features a unique ATM which will be dispensing custom, collectible bills designed by Sajjad Musa. Each bill is inspired by Burna’s Nigerian roots, and his quest to call out corruption and the disproportionate distribution of wealth.”
The bank will be launched on Wednesday, August 13, 2019 at 419 Tompkins Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11216 between 6:00pm and 9:00pm. ‘Burna Bank’ will take the form of an ATM and it will be on the site till Sunday, August 18, 2019.
