Toronto’s own Asun Eastwood is best described as “Provocative”. He vividly paints dramatic pictures over loopy-hypnotic-bass riddled samples allowing the listener to get a glimpse of his gritty but luxurious lifestyle.
Asun shines both as an emcee and as a fashion connoisseur. He dropped his project NIMBUS last year, followed by the very personal compilation album Hollywood Briggs. The man does groundbreaking damage when he takes hold of the mic, calling out the fakes and phonies. Asun has been changing the game along with his fellow comrade and frequent collaborator Daniel Son. His delivery is cool, calm and collected without having to try too hard. When he spits vicious bars, he almost appears to be taunting his opponents, and does so in a menacing, yet effortless manner.
