Lucky Daye drops off his new EP II, Daye’s latest music project is the second installment of his debut album Painted, set for release later this spring viaKeep Cool/RCA Records.
Teasing the arrival of II with the single “Karma” a few weeks ago, it attracted critical praise with Complex writing, “If you’re in search for a fresh-faced addition to your playlists, we’ve got you covered today with [‘Karma’]…There’s a range of audible influences to his sound, as the New Orleans native throws in elements of funk and soul into an experimental R&B package.”
II follows the release of Lucky’s I, which is comprised of the first five tracks from Painted and includes Lucky’s debut single “Roll Some Mo.” To date, the track has been streamed over 8 million times worldwide and was featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist upon release. NPR touted him among “10 Kings of R&B For 2018,” claiming, “His versatility and strategic fusions of funk and jazz on I nod to how he might set himself apart come 2019.” Additionally, I received critical praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, FADER, Complex, ESSENCE, Pigeons & Planes and more.
Kicking off on February 12th in Vancouver, Lucky will hit the road with Ella Mai on her “The Debut Tour” this spring. Handpicked by Ella, he will perform alongside Kiana Ledé. See below for full tour routing.
