Off his albumThe Autobiography, Vic Mensa releases the visuals to his Ty Dolla $ign-assisted “We Could Be Free” – a powerful visual makeover. Through the life of a young black male, which is tragically cut short by a cop, the video juxtaposes the safe space of a mother’s womb and the innocence of youth with the social and racial injustice of the outside world. Despite the heartbreak, though, there’s also an underlying message of hope. “The goal of the video is the same as the goal of the song, which is to unify people,” Vic says.
