Desiigner – Life Of Desiigner
Fans of Desiigner were elated to finally know that a new body of work from the Panda crooner will be arriving soon.
On Thursday (Aug. 10), the G.O.O.D. Music artist uploaded the official for his forthcoming Life Of Desiigner album. Check it out for yourself up top.
The photo is a collage of cut-outs of a young, pre-teen Desiigner (whose real name is Sidney Royel Selby III) with who is most likely his mother and father. It’s still unclear what other artists the album will feature or what the content will be about, but his cover definitely carries a nostalgic feeling.
The rapper tried to reveal something bigger than cover art from L.O.D. not long ago. He teased an unreleased track, presumably also from this upcoming project, in an Instagram video not long ago, however the post has since been taken down. Let’s hope that the rest of his new material keep up the trend of strong showings from Desiigner this year, which would solidify his name firmly in the A-list space of rap music.
The songs he has released in the course of the past weeks (“Holy Ghost,” “Up,” and “Thank God I Got It.”) have been a major upgrade from last summer’s debut mixtape New English. Even his impromptu rendition of Temptations “My Girl” on The Cruz Show was pretty good. Desiigner’s greatest potential might be as a Motown revivalist.
Desiigner’s album is tentatively titled The Life of Desiigner.
L.O.D., which most likely stands for Life of Desiigner, will serve as a follow up to his 2016 mixtape, New English. Since he gained national attention for his single “Panda,” which originally appeared as a sample on one of Kanye West’s track off of The Life of Pablo, the rapper has kept his name in the discussion with singles like “Timmy Turner,” “Outlet,” “Life Shiit,” and “Life (Remix),” with G.O.O.D. Music labelmate, Big Sean. The rapper also was keeping busy on the Outlet Tour, which ran from Apr. 2, to May 16.
