Right after the release of his DropTopWop album with Metro Boomin last week, ATL rapper Gucci Mane make his return to the scene today thanks to his contribution to Fifth Harmony’s new single “Down.”
Off Fifth Harmony’s upcoming third studio album due out later this year, “Down” serves as the first offering from the ladies since singer Camila Cabello’s departure from the group back in December, but who better to fill her spot than Guwop right?
Gucci Mane the new Camila Cabello? That may be a stretch—even during a spectacular year for Gucci—but he does have the honor of being on “Down,” Fifth Harmony’s first song since Cabello left the group last year to pursue a solo career,The group revealed the news on Instagram, unveiling the cover art for the track. The artwork shows the four members of the all-girl pop band staring seductively at the camera in front of a background that contains the song title and artists names. “Our new single #DOWN ft. Gucci Mane @laflare1017 coming June Second,” the picture is captioned.
